Summer is here, and with it, long, hot days and summer travel. Heat, light and a colorful warm weather wardrobe call for radiant yellow gold, glittering diamond pave and a rainbow of gemstones, in our curation of Summer 2023 jewels you won’t want to take off.
Since 2013, Venyx designer Eugenie Niarchos has been drawing on a heady mix of nature, sci-fi, and the supernatural to produce richly worked jewels in precious metals, unusual materials, and multicolored gemstones. Statement rings have been a signature since her breakout Reptilia collection, and here, she creates an arresting ring using the shape of the bear paw clam, engraved and peppered with cool-toned gemstones.
Bubble, the second collection from young Kuwaiti brand Ascher, is all about the upbeat vibes of summer. Soft corners and chunky shapes make for a look that’s both playful and sophisticated, in a diamond and gold ear cuff that will make for an original addition to your ear stack.
Drawing on both past and present, the Azlee aesthetic is timeless and elegant, elevating motifs from the Ancient World in solid gold, that designer Baylee Ann Zwart prizes for its durability. In the Of the Stars pendants, she reinterpreted the signs of the Zodiac to create highly wearable, sustainably produced medallions.
California’s Queen of Crystals Jacquie Aiche creates feminine, meaningful jewelry with crystals that she infuses with good intentions. Her talismanic jewelry has become emblematic of laid-back boho luxe, and this delicate diamond body chain will work beautifully at the beach, or over bright summer block color.
Through Eéra, designers Chiara Capitani and Romy Blanga have created a unique utilitarian-luxe aesthetic, working in precious metals and bold colors that are perfect for summer. This diamond pavé, white gold, and Fuschia-tinted sterling silver tag earring pay homage to the city in which the pair were inspired to start their brand.
Paris-based Rainbow K creates trend-driven fine jewelry, in a playful blend of metals and gemstones. Designers Kelly and Kelia have a bold way with color and love to mix metals, and the Piercing earring is emblematic of their look. White diamond pavé and sunny yellow gold are sure to turn heads, in this bold statement huggie.
A statement chain is an easy-wear summer must-have, and Anita Ko’s diamond solitaire necklace highlights tanned collar bones and lies beautifully flat at the throat, thanks to a delicate reworking of the classic Cuban chain link from one of Los Angeles’ most prominent jewelry designers.
