Azlee
AZLEE is a combination of designer Baylee Ann Zwart’s middle, last and first names.
Zwart was raised between Colorado and California. After working at Glamour and Allure Magazines in New York, she moved to Guatemala to work for a fair-trade non-profit with local artisans. It was there on the shores of Lake Atitlan that she began to study the art of jewelry metal working and was immediately enamored with the notion of being able to sculpt pieces from the ground up that can be worn everyday, and passed down from generation to generation.
Made of 18k gold and platinum, AZLEE’s pieces are made locally in Los Angeles by master craftsman. The enamel is hand painted by a local artist and the jewelers are top craftsman in their field. Zwart’s design aesthetic is characterized by her fresh perspective and restrained approach. Pieces feel modern and interesting, yet effortlessly wearable. Her personal influences include design approaches signature of the French Art Deco era as well as her fascination with Ancient civilizations.
AZLEE has been worn by Emma Watson, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Zoë Kravitz, Scarlett Johansson and has been featured in Vogue, Vogue Paris, W, Elle, Bazaar and international publications around the world.
As an avid surfer & scuba diver, the ocean holds a very special place in Zwart’s heart. Each year the designer supports a different ocean-related cause via a portion of proceeds from the sale of her collection.
